The Commonwealth LNG name is emblematic of the company’s founding aspirations to embrace strong core values, teamwork and shared rewards. From inception, project leadership has remained committed to building a world-class LNG facility by staying relentlessly focused on managing risk and lowering capital costs.

These values were further enhanced in June of 2024 when Kimmeridge, an alternate asset management firm focused on the energy sector, acquired controlling interest in Commonwealth LNG. The addition of Commonwealth LNG is a key component in a ‘wellhead to water’ vertical integration of Kimmeridge companies capable of providing reliable, secure, and clean energy to global markets.

Company Goals

The global LNG market is evolving, with the introduction of greater competition resulting in increased liquidity and efficiency. LNG buyers and traders continue to need firm, reasonably priced LNG supply but their requirements are changing regarding contract tenor, pricing and flexibility.

Commonwealth LNG represents a next generation LNG export facility designed to provide a platform for meeting the unique requirements of the next wave of LNG demand. The company expects commencement of LNG production by the end of 2028.
